Not my cuppa tea.

Love BMW cars, but, and like us T/Bird owners a simple phone app and a plug in ODB11 wifi sender reciever, all manner of stuff can be messed with, bypassing that horrid bent over feeling, example battery change, BMW AGM battery $650 Aus, then another $200 Aus for dealer stealer to plug in and register the battery to one of the cars many computers. $35 for the ODB11 wifi unit app, change outta $30, Battery all the same specs $300.

The more car/bike companies try to leave the owner out of the loop, the more the smart cookies of the world, find ways around them.

So us who can't help ourselves, to tinker, still can

The more I understand the human race, the more I love my bike.

Wow, that seems optimistic. The 1600 GT is closer to $30 and even the 1200 is around $23.

I heard BMW ships this bike to dealers with optional upgrade packages meaning more $$. If you want the (less expensive) base model, that's special ordered.

The Bimmer is a well built and nice machine in general, but,ya need a long inseam just to touch the ground, plus,it's VERY expensive to buy, repair, maintain, and accessorize,no matter which make, year,or model you buy. It's built for Autobaun roads, like they have over seas where there are NO SPEED LIMITS,and one can travel at warp factor III , if so desired!!! But every fuckin part for that thing is wicked expensive. There is one dealership locally around here which also sells used Bimmers with well over 100,000 miles showin on the clocks, yet their asking prices are higher then you would pay for almost any brand new whatever make or model, motorcycle, including the H.D.,which in itself, is quite pricey!! So thank you,but no thank you!! Dave!!!

The BMW has a low 30" seat and priced right. Also I know about Europa speed limits, lived there 4 years :)

In your search for a 'new' ride (considering Triumph, BMW and Guzzi), any luck? Let me guess......

Great one hit wonder. The song is about masterbating - which fits nicely is the sort of people who drive BMWs.

Well Fenton isn't going to admit his only hit is about the vinegar stroke over a crush is he? Despite being given the opportunity to explain what the song is about he's never offered a creditable alternative meaning.

It if was me, I'd admit it - it's a great song.

I like it a lot better that the Honda it was being compared to. I'd love to take it on one of my long trips. Some of the technical aspects of the bike are pretty impressive. I would hope there would be a way to add more luggage though. I don't need that much power but 160 hp would be awesome. Reverse? I can see it. There's been times on my birds that I wouldn't mind having a reverse. Price at $22,995 is competitive. Not near as pricey as say an Indian Roadmaster or top end Harley tourer. I give it a thumbs up.

Why are we seeing more bikes with these slipons the size of fruit baskets. They look like the bell bottomed jeans I had at 16.
You can literally stick your head in there

And speaking of Roadmasters, I test road an Indian Chieftain again yesterday. This time they let me take out the one with the Stage 2 cams and exhausts.
I've ridden several of these, while it is more comfortable with better suspension bell and whistles than a Tbird. Once again I found it under-powered and no doubt in my mind my Tbird would walk of and leave it.
That's not brand favoritism talking , that is a fact.

My local Triumph-BMW dealer said the K 1600 B would arrive in August (I'd like to have a look-see). They uncrated two bikes but were immediately out the door (presold)...oh well.

Speaking of tanks, I had the opportunity to set on the BMW 1600 "bagger" . God all mighty the front end of that thing must weigh 800 lbs. I about dropped my boys on the floor lifting it off the kickstand. The only other bike I recall being that heavy off the stand was Yamahas's short lived V twin 2000.

The BMW bags are very small and the exhaust are larger than that appear in the pictures. You can shove a volleyball in the end.
I was quickly bored with the whole concept. Seriously who is going to buy these? BMW guys, nope, weekend warrior vest and chap guys, nope.
If you want one you best get it now, it will be two model years and done.
